EUW Linux Login Issues Fix

Posted on by

Some days ago i found i was unable to login on EUW, after a day of investigations i foun out Linux packet were sightly different from Windows ones
There is a tcp timestamp, this is default on most linux distros i guess, turning off this option fixes the problem

You can find some info on tcp timestamps on Wikipedia or simply google it
Long story short tcp timestamps are not so useful in everyday use so you can safely disable them

Disabiling it’s pretty easy:

sysctl -w net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps=0

I believe this works on most distros, this command requires root privileges so don’t forget sudo, su or whatever!
If this does not work try with:

echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps

This also needs to be run after every rebot, you can do it automatically by adding this line to a config file:

net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps = 0

The config file is /etc/sysctl.conf but if your distro is using systemd the config file is /etc/sysctl.d/99-sysctl.conf
You may need to create it!

That’s it, good luck on the Fields of Justice!
