Hearhstone on Wine

Hearthstone runs pretty good on Wine, but there is only a small limitation: due to a Wine commit in Wine 1.7.18 Hearhstone fails to start.

There are two ways to get past this error, the first one is obviously running an older version of Wine: 1.7.17 for example runs pretty fine

LoL on Linux, the three ways

Ok, if you want to run League of Legends on linux there are a lot of options, you can use the automated way using playonlinux
By the way i find better, more flexible and also more instructive using the good old Wine

Let’s begin then!

First of all you need to install Wine and pretty much every optional dependencies (Install 32bit versions if you are on a 64bit system)
I will not talk about this, since the commands are different for pretty much all distros

As long as i can tell LoL runs fine with Wine 1.7.34, with no need to use winetricks at all
There is just one annoying bug: opening the in game shop makes the game crash
There are three ways to get past this bug and that’s what i’ll talk about!

EUW Linux Login Issues Fix

Some days ago i found i was unable to login on EUW, after a day of investigations i foun out Linux packet were sightly different from Windows ones
There is a tcp timestamp, this is default on most linux distros i guess, turning off this option fixes the problem

You can find some info on tcp timestamps on Wikipedia or simply google it
Long story short tcp timestamps are not so useful in everyday use so you can safely disable them
